Most photographers I know have serious wanderlust, I think it’s just a prerequisite of the job. It’s in our blood to crave scenery and beauty, which is why when couples ask if I travel for weddings the answer is always a resounding YES. PLEASE.
I was SO excited for Chris & Austin’s wedding — not just because they are two very handsome men who so obviously love each other, but because I’d never been to Dallas and I was itching for the opportunity to explore a new city. And it did not disappoint! Sara and I were greeted with SUNSHINE (which we hadn’t seen in 6 months) and true southern charm. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, we commented non-stop about how nice everyone was (and all the y’alls!).
Hotel Zaza was THE perfect venue for Chris & Austin — the decor was artsy chic (I made that up but I think it works) with tons of unique textures and color. They stayed in one of the bungalows (romantic, right??) and chose to get ready together on the morning of the wedding. Traditionally couples get ready separately and wait to see each other at the ceremony, but after watching Chris & Austin help each other dress, straightening bow-ties and sharing the excitement, I can say that it’s one of my new favorite moments.
Congratulations Austin & Chris and thank you so much for the opportunity!!! You guys are the best <3
