This winter I spent so much time working on improving my posing — learning ways to capture natural movement and emotion easily, tricks for making couples feel comfortable, and little ways to make the session personal. One of the best investments I made was traveling to Hawaii to learn from photographer Lindsey Roman, who takes the most beautiful candid photographs. I’m not going to give too much away but it helped my approach SO MUCH — I saw changes almost immediately. While I was there I had the opportunity to photograph Chelsie & Ryan and I don’t know if it’s the mountains or the movement or what — but I AM IN LOVE!!!! All I know now is that I need to go back and I need to photograph elopements in Hawaii forever.
